Established as a pilot program in 2016, the program targeted 100 Most vulnerable children, who are residents at Buhangija center in Shinyanga Municipality. Majority of these children were in desperate need of nutritional value supplemented in to their daily meals. To start with, SATF committed TShs 16.5 million to reverse the severe conditions of malnourishment these MVC faced from poor feeding and albinism. One year after, the program gained momentum and scaled-up to reach 150 beneficiaries with nutritional meal daily. SATF continued to provide funding for the program, and as of 2017, TZS 30milion was the total value of funding injected to the program.
Reports and stories narrated by the children benefitting from the program show a reduction of repeated illnesses, previously caused by poor feeding due to this addition of regular, nutritional meals.
